Matm strengthens PR offer with new appointment

Shropshire marketing company matm has strengthened its PR offer by appointing former award-winning journalist Andy Comber as its new public relations manager.

The move reflects matm’s ambition to be able to offer its clients the broadest possible range of services and ensure it is well positioned to will new business, said the company’s owner, Stuart Bickerton.

He added: “Andy brings a wealth of experience as both a former print and broadcast journalist and a senior public relations manager in the NHS. His skills and knowledge complement extremely well the talent we can already bring to bear on serving our clients.

“Increasingly, because of the impact of online and social media, customers require a full range of co-ordinated marketing communications tools to achieve their business objectives. Having Andy with us will greatly increase our capacity to meet that need.”

Andy was a senior reporter the Derby Evening Telegraph and Investigations Editor at the Birmingham Mail before moving to ITV’s Central News as a senior broadcast journalist.

Since 2004 he has worked as a Head of Communications for Good Hope Hospital NHS Trust in Sutton Coldfield and University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust before moving into private consultancy.

Andy said: “Coming to work at matm is a fantastic opportunity. It’s a great team with a wealth of talent. Expanding our PR capability is a logical step. I’m really looking forward to working with our clients in the Shropshire business community.”
